RuneScape sets the date: Jagex Accounts become required on 17 November

Legacy logins stop working on that date for RuneScape and Old School RuneScape. Here's what to do now.

On 16 October, Jagex announced that the full move to Jagex Accounts happens on 17 November 2026, for both RuneScape and Old School RuneScape. From that date, legacy accounts can't log in until they make the one-time upgrade.

Jagex says you only need your existing username or login email and password, and you don't need access to the old email address. Characters stay safely stored if you miss the date, and you'll be asked to upgrade the next time you log in.

Steam, Apple, Google and Game Center logins can still log in as they are. But Jagex says you'll need a Jagex Account to use the Launcher or website services such as Support.

In other RuneScape news, Jagex's news page announced on 19 October that its API Plugin Hub had launched, an official in-game way to browse community-made plugins.
